Makeup & Makeover

It is impossible to perform a makeover without the appropriate makeup. Learning the basics of application is the key to looking as good as possible.

Before starting any makeover, it is important to wash the face with a gentle cleanser. Pat the face dry with a towel; never rub dry as that can irritate the skin.

Once the face it dry, it is time to apply foundation & blush. Start by finding something designed for individual skin type. Apply a thin layer of foundation to the entire face, ensuring that it is gently blended to avoid blotchy spots or discolored areas. Apply the blush lightly to the apple of the cheeks, or the cheekbones, with a blush brush. Brush upward for the best results.

The next step of the makeover is to apply lipstick & lip liner. Apply the liner first by tracing the natural outer line of the lips. Take care at the corners to bring in the liner to avoid an unnatural look. After the liner surrounds the lips, apply the lipstick from the center to the outer corner of the lips. Blot with a piece of tissue or press the lips closed over the tissue to remove excess lipstick.

The last step of the makeover is to apply eye makeup. The application varies on the preferred look, but generally it starts with brushing or applying the eye shadow. When the shadow is finished, use an eyeliner pencil. Get as close to the lash line as possible and start at the inner corner of the eyes. Apply mascara when the liner is finished.
